Anything affording pleasure, diversion, or amusement. It can range from a simple puzzle, such as a crossword or sudoku, to an elaborate performance. Entertainment may also serve a serious purpose, as in the case of ceremonies, celebrations, religious festivals, or satire. Children’s entertainment often involves play, which helps them develop skills needed for future activities such as school and social interaction.
